What are the main reasons for the corrosion and fracture of the battery positive plate?
Auther: Pubdate:2020-05-07
The device that converts chemical energy into electrical energy is called a chemical battery, generally referred to as a battery. After discharge, the internal active material can be regenerated by charging-storing electrical energy as chemical energy; when discharging is needed, chemical energy is converted into electrical energy again. This type of battery is called a storage battery (Storage Battery), also known as a secondary battery. The so-called accumulator is an electro-chemical equipment that stores chemical energy and emits electrical energy when necessary.

What are the main causes of corrosion and fracture of the battery positive plate?
What are the main reasons for the corrosion and fracture of the battery positive plate? Today, Conrad ’s editor introduces you to this issue:

(1) The electrolyte of the lead-acid battery contains acids or other organic salts that have a corrosive effect on the positive grid, which will gradually corrode the positive grid. These acids and salts that are harmful to the positive grid may come from sulfuric acid, distilled water, or may be leached from the separator or other components. Therefore, during the charge and discharge cycle, the plate or the positive grid is continuously corroded.

(2) When charging, the positive grid is under the condition of anode polarization, and frequent overcharging is the main reason for the corrosion and fracture of the positive plate.

(3) The process of corrosion of the positive electrode plate, that is, the process of oxide film formation, so the linear size of the grid has increased, which causes deformation or expansion of the grid.

(4) The electrolyte density is too high, the temperature is too high, and the oxidation corrosion of the positive electrode plate is intensified.

(5) There is a problem with the manufacturing process of the grid alloy, which causes the electrode plate to be resistant to corrosion and break during charging and discharging.
