The direct detection method of the backup battery is to conduct a discharge test and measure the actual capacity of the battery. However, such testing is expensive, time-consuming, and destroys the integrity of the backup energy, which cannot be used frequently. Therefore, indirect and reliable monitoring methods are particularly important.
 
For liquid-rich (open) lead-acid batteries, the main indirect monitoring method is to measure voltage and specific gravity, plus direct observation through a transparent battery case. For valve-regulated sealed lead-acid batteries, new detection methods need to be sought.
 
 
Many commercial battery condition monitoring instruments based on internal resistance (or impedance) measurement have been widely used. Maintenance personnel test the internal resistance of each battery one by one, and compare to determine the status of the battery. This work is tedious and dangerous.
 
However, people have overestimated the role of internal resistance measurement methods, because valve-regulated lead-acid batteries have many complex failure mechanisms, and the internal resistance measurement results can only provide some early prediction information for battery use. The correspondence between internal resistance and retained capacity still seems far-fetched.
 
Until now, there is no battery management system suitable for industry. Existing battery detection systems have been used to measure and record various parameters, but the Longyi battery management system combines the previous features and makes the battery pack interact, which is very important because the previous technology cannot detect many problems of the battery.
