What are the main causes of corrosion and rupture of the battery positive plate?
Auther: Pubdate:2020-04-02
The device that converts chemical energy into electrical energy is called a chemical battery, and is generally called a battery for short. After discharging, the internal active material can be regenerated by charging-storing electrical energy as chemical energy; chemical energy is converted into electrical energy again when discharging is required. Such batteries are called storage batteries and also called secondary batteries. The so-called battery is an electrochemical device that stores chemical energy and releases electrical energy when necessary.

What are the main causes of corrosion and rupture of the battery positive plate?

What are the main reasons for the corrosion and fracture of the battery positive plate? Today, the editor of Kanglida introduced this issue to you:

(1) The electrolyte of lead-acid batteries contains acids or other organic salts that have a corrosive effect on the positive electrode grid, which will gradually corrode the positive electrode grid. These acids and salts that are harmful to the positive electrode grid may come from sulfuric acid, distilled water, or may be leached from the separator or other components. Therefore, during the charge and discharge cycle, the electrode plate or the positive electrode grid is continuously corroded.

(2) During charging, the positive electrode grid is under anodic polarization. Frequent overcharging is the main reason for the corrosion and fracture of the positive electrode plate.

(3) The process of the positive electrode plate being corroded, that is, the process of generating an oxide film, so the linear size of the grid increases, which causes the grid to deform or expand.

(4) The electrolyte density is too high and the temperature is too high, and the oxidation corrosion of the positive electrode plate is intensified.

(5) There are problems with the grid alloy manufacturing process, which causes the electrode plate to be resistant to corrosion and break during the charge and discharge process.
